How Do We Handle Your Codebase?

Dev Intern AI needs access to your source code. Below, we summarize how we retrieve and process it.

We clone the full source code of your project onto our instances. Based on your coding instructions, we send selected files from your codebase to the third-party tool ClaudeAI to provide accurate code suggestions. The files we send are those most relevant to be modified according to your instructions. Additionally, we share parts of your codebase with Slack to provide messages about the suggested code. Multiple copies of your source code are kept on our instances: we maintain one copy per code request you make on Dev Intern AI. These copies may be retained until you permanently remove your account.

We also store the entire content (including titles, descriptions, and more) of the GitHub/GitLab issues and comments created in the repository you have shared with Dev Intern AI. Additionally, we store all Slack messages sent to Dev Intern AI.

While we implement basic security measures, we are NOT responsible for keeping your codebase data (including codebase, issues, MR/PR comments and Slack messages) safe and cannot be held liable for any data or source code alteration or unauthorized access resulting from sharing your codebase with Dev Intern AI. Dev Intern AI is an early-stage service. We strongly recommend using it for open-source development only.

Both ClaudeAI and Slack are integral to our operations. We share your source code with these third parties, and we are not responsible for any privacy or confidentiality issues arising from the code shared with them.

Note that ClaudeAI explicitly stores its data and hosts its services in the United States. As a result, the codebase you link to Dev Intern AI will be sent to the US.

While Dev Intern AI can be used for various types of projects, based on the statements above, it is your responsibility to determine if using Dev Intern AI aligns with your security standards, confidentiality rules, and internal policies. We strongly recommend using it for open-source development only.
